Subscription Policy

InfynitEdge by Chromium is a subscription program that puts professional Japanese steel shears in your hands without the friction of ownership or sharpening. This policy summarizes how your subscription works. The full legal terms are in our Terms of Service, which control if there is any conflict with this summary.

1. Plans and Pricing

InfynitEdge offers three subscription tiers, each available monthly or annually. New monthly subscriptions include a one-time $49 program setup fee, added at checkout as a separate line item. The setup fee may be waived or discounted in connection with promotions; the exact amount you will pay is shown before you complete checkout. The program setup fee is non-refundable after 14 days from purchase; within the first 14 days, refund requests are considered on a case-by-case basis less any charges or services rendered.

Single — $29/month or $324/year

Bundle — $39/month or $435/year

  • One cutting shear and one matched thinning shear (5.5" or 6.0")
  • 2 swaps included per year
  • Premium leather case

Pro — $49/month or $547/year

  • Same shears as Bundle (one cutting, one thinning)
  • 4 swaps included per year
  • Priority VIP support
  • Premium leather case

Annual plans are paid up front for the year and waive the $49 program setup fee.

2. Billing and Renewals

Your initial charge — the program setup fee plus your first month (or the full annual amount) — is billed at signup. The setup fee appears as a separate line item at checkout. Recurring monthly or annual charges thereafter are processed through ReCharge Payments and your card processor. Monthly subscriptions renew on the same date each month; annual subscriptions renew every twelve (12) months. Renewals happen automatically until you cancel.

We accept major credit and debit cards, Shop Pay, and other payment methods supported by Shopify Payments. You can update your payment method anytime in your account.

If a charge fails, we retry on our standard schedule. Repeated failures may pause your swap allowance and ultimately end your subscription, with any outstanding amounts owed.

3. Three-Month Minimum Commitment

Monthly subscriptions include a three-month minimum commitment. By signing up, you commit to remain a subscriber for at least three full billing cycles. Cancellation requests submitted during the minimum-commitment period may be processed, but the program setup fee and any monthly charges already billed are non-refundable. After the third full billing cycle, cancel anytime. Annual subscriptions cover a full 12 months at signup.

The three-month commitment exists because the program economics — premium shears shipped at signup, free swap shipping in both directions, no sharpening fees — are designed for an ongoing relationship rather than a one-time trial.

4. Swap Service

Need a sharp pair? Request a swap from your account. We ship a fresh, resharpened shear within 24–48 business hours, and a prepaid return mailer is included for the dulled pair you are exchanging.

  • Single and Bundle: 2 swaps included per year
  • Pro: 4 swaps included per year
  • Additional swaps beyond your annual allowance: $39 each, charged at the time of the request
  • Return the dulled shear in the prepaid mailer within 14 days of receiving your replacement

If a dulled shear is not returned within 14 days, the unreturned-shear charge described in our Terms of Service applies (currently $700 per cutting shear and $700 per thinning shear).

5. Changing Plans

You can upgrade or downgrade your tier anytime from your account. Upgrades take effect immediately or at your next billing cycle — your choice. Downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle. The new monthly rate applies on the first renewal after the change.

6. Cancellation

After the three-month minimum commitment, cancel anytime by:

  • Logging into your account at infynitedge.com and selecting "Cancel Subscription," or
  • Emailing support@chromium.com from the email address on your account.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Within 14 days of your final billing date, return the shear(s) using the prepaid label we will issue. Shears not returned within that 14-day window are billed at $700 per cutting shear and $700 per thinning shear, as described in our Terms of Service.

To rejoin after cancellation, a new program setup fee may apply.

7. Warranty

Every InfynitEdge shear carries a Limited Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects, for as long as you remain a member and for the lifetime of the shears thereafter. Damage from misuse, accident, or normal wear is not covered, but member-rate replacements are available. See our Refund & Returns Policy for full warranty details.
