Terms of Service
Terms of Service
Effective Date: May 9, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Chromium, a brand of The Paragon Companies, Inc. ("Chromium," "we," "us," or "our"), governing your use of the InfynitEdge professional shear subscription program (the "Program") and the website at infynitedge.com (the "Site").
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY. THEY INCLUDE A BINDING ARBITRATION CLAUSE AND CLASS ACTION WAIVER IN SECTION 16, A SUBSCRIPTION AUTO-RENEWAL DISCLOSURE IN SECTION 4, AND OTHER IMPORTANT PROVISIONS.
By creating an account, enrolling in the Program, or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site or enroll in the Program.
1. Eligibility
To enroll in the Program, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Reside in the United States and have a valid U.S. shipping address
- Have a valid U.S. payment method
- Provide accurate and complete account information
We reserve the right to verify eligibility and refuse, suspend, or terminate any account at our discretion.
2. Account Registration
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@chromium.com if you become aware of any unauthorized access.
3. The Program
InfynitEdge is a subscription program that provides professional-grade Japanese steel shears to subscribers. Subscribers receive an initial shear or shear set at enrollment and may swap their shears for resharpened replacements according to the swap allowance of their chosen plan.
The Program currently offers the following tiers:
- Single: One cutting shear, with the swap allowance specified at signup
- Bundle: One cutting shear and one thinning shear, with the swap allowance specified at signup
- Pro: One cutting shear and one thinning shear, with a higher swap allowance and priority service
Specific monthly and annual pricing, swap allowances, and other plan features are presented at the point of enrollment and are part of these Terms.
4. Subscription, Auto-Renewal, and Initiation Fee
4.1 Recurring Charges
When you enroll, you authorize us (and our subscription processor, ReCharge Payments, Inc.) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis at the published rate of the plan you selected, until you cancel. Monthly plans renew every month; annual plans renew every twelve (12) months. Renewal charges occur automatically without further action required from you.
4.2 Initiation Fee
A one-time initiation fee of $49 is charged at enrollment. The initiation fee may be waived or discounted in connection with specific promotions; the amount you will pay is disclosed before you complete enrollment.
4.3 Three-Month Minimum Commitment
Monthly subscriptions require a minimum commitment of three (3) full billing cycles from the date of your first charge. You may not cancel during this initial commitment period. After the initial three months, you may cancel at any time as described in Section 6.
4.4 Pricing Changes
We may change subscription pricing from time to time. We will provide at least thirty (30) days' notice of any price increase, by email to the address associated with your account. Continued use of the Program after the effective date of a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
4.5 Failed Payments
If your payment method is declined, we will attempt to retry the charge in accordance with our standard dunning schedule. We may suspend Program services and the swap allowance during any period of unsuccessful billing. After repeated failed attempts, your subscription may be terminated and outstanding amounts may be sent to collections.
4.6 No Refunds for Partial Periods
Except as required by law, we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods.
5. Swap Service
5.1 Allowance
Each plan includes a defined number of swap credits per twelve-month period. Unused credits do not roll over.
5.2 Process
When you request a swap, a fresh resharpened shear is shipped to you. Inside that shipment is a prepaid return mailer for the dulled shear you are exchanging.
5.3 Return Obligation
You must return the dulled shear in the prepaid mailer within fourteen (14) days of receipt of your replacement. If you do not return the dulled shear within this period, we may, at our discretion: (a) charge your payment method on file for the full retail replacement value of the unreturned shear, currently $700 per cutting shear and $700 per thinning shear; (b) suspend or terminate your subscription; or (c) deny future swap requests until the return is received.
5.4 Additional Swaps
Swap requests beyond your annual allowance are available for $39 per swap, charged at the time of the request.
5.5 Damage in Transit
Use the prepaid mailer we provide. We are not responsible for shears lost or damaged in transit when sent through any other means.
6. Cancellation
6.1 How to Cancel
After the initial three-month commitment period, you may cancel your subscription at any time by:
- Logging into your account at infynitedge.com and selecting "Cancel Subscription"; or
- Emailing support@chromium.com from the email address associated with your account.
We process cancellation requests within one (1) business day. You will receive a cancellation confirmation by email.
6.2 Effect of Cancellation
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access to the Program (including the ability to swap) through that date.
6.3 Return of Shears on Cancellation
Within fourteen (14) days of your final billing date, you must return the shear(s) provided to you under the Program using the prepaid return label we issue at cancellation. If shears are not returned within this period, the unreturned-shear charges in Section 5.3 apply.
6.4 Reinstatement
If you wish to rejoin after cancellation, a new initiation fee may apply.
7. Limited Lifetime Warranty
We warrant that shears provided through the Program will be free from manufacturing defects for as long as you remain a subscriber and for the lifetime of the shears thereafter, subject to the following:
- Defective shears will be replaced at no charge under the warranty
- Damage caused by misuse, accident, neglect, modification, or normal wear is not covered
- Lost, stolen, or destroyed shears are not covered, but replacements are available at our member rate
- The warranty does not cover sharpness degradation, which is addressed by the Swap Service
To make a warranty claim, contact support@chromium.com with photos and a description of the issue.
8. Shipping
Shipping terms — including processing times, carriers, transit estimates, and lost/damaged-in-transit procedures — are described in our Shipping Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
9. Returns and Refunds
Returns and refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated by reference.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site or Program for any unlawful purpose
- Resell shears provided through the Program except as expressly permitted
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to discover the source code of the Site
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site or the Program
- Submit false or misleading information
- Misuse the Swap Service (e.g., requesting swaps for shears you no longer possess)
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these provisions, in addition to any other remedies available to us.
11. Intellectual Property
All content on the Site, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is owned by Chromium or its licensors and protected by U.S. and international intellectual property laws. The trademarks "Chromium," "InfynitEdge," and the "Always Sharp. Never Sharpen." tagline are owned by us. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
12. User Submissions
By submitting reviews, photographs, or other content to us, you grant Chromium a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, display, and distribute that content in connection with the Program and Chromium's marketing, in any medium now known or later developed.
13. Disclaimers
THE SITE AND PROGRAM ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
14. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL CHROMIUM, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE OR PROGRAM. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages; the above limitations apply only to the extent permitted by law.
15. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Chromium and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your breach of these Terms; (b) your misuse of the Site or Program; or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right.
16. Dispute Resolution; Binding Arbitration; Class Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
16.1 Informal Resolution
Before filing any claim, you agree to first contact us at support@chromium.com and attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute informally for at least sixty (60) days.
16.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site or Program will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted in Tarrant County, Texas (or by video, at your election), and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
16.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND CHROMIUM AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN AN INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
16.4 Exceptions
Either party may bring qualifying claims in small-claims court. Either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property infringement.
16.5 Right to Opt Out
You may opt out of the arbitration agreement and class action waiver in Section 16 by sending written notice to Chromium at the mailing address in Section 19 within thirty (30) days of first agreeing to these Terms. Your notice must include your full name, address, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Subject to Section 16, you and Chromium agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Tarrant County, Texas.
18. Modifications
We may modify these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and/or a notice on the Site, with at least thirty (30) days' advance notice for changes that increase your obligations or reduce your rights. Continued use of the Program after the effective date of an updated version constitutes acceptance.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Program and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- Waiver: Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
